BLYOTT MOBILE APP: LINKING PROCESS MANUAL

Asset and Tag Management with the Blyott App

The linking process in the Blyott app allows you to associate tags with assets for efficient tracking and management. This functionality is only available for Administrator and UserPlus roles. Below is a step-by-step guide to handle different scenarios during the linking process.

Scenario 1: Linking a New Asset to a New Tag

This scenario applies when you are associating a new tag with a brand-new asset that is not yet in the Blyott portal.

Steps:

  1. Go to Link Asset:

    •  Scan the Asset Code of the new asset or enter it manually.
  2. Scan Tag Code:

    • Scan the QR code on the tag you wish to link to the asset.
  3. Select Tag Type and Hardware Model:

    • Choose the correct Tag Type:
      • Mobile for moving assets.
      • Fixed for stationary assets.
    • Select the appropriate Hardware Model for the tag (e.g., Standard tag = BT-T1).
  4. Complete Linking:

    • Click the Link Asset button.
    • If the asset does not already exist in the Blyott portal, a popup will appear:
"Asset doesn’t exist! Do you want to create and link a new asset?"
      • Click Yes to proceed.
      • Note: If the asset code has already been uploaded to the Blyott dashboard, the tag and asset will automatically link, and no further steps are needed.
    • If the asset is new:
      • Fill in the Asset Type (e.g., Forklift or Bladderscanner).
      • Click Create to finalize.

Scenario 2: Linking an Existing Asset to a New Tag

This scenario is used when an asset needs a tag replacement, often due to battery depletion of the previous tag.

Steps:

  1. Go to Link Asset:
    • Scan the Asset Code of the existing asset or enter it manually.
  2. Scan Tag Code:
    • Scan the QR code of the new tag you want to use.
  3. Select Tag Type and Hardware Model:
    • Choose the correct Tag Type:
      • Mobile for moving assets.
      • Fixed for stationary assets.
    • Select the appropriate Hardware Model for the tag (e.g., Standard tag = BT-T1).
  4. Complete Linking:
    • The system will notify you that the asset is already linked to a tag with a specific MAC address.
    • Confirm by clicking Yes to unlink the old tag and replace it with the new one.
    • Remove the old tag physically and attach the new tag to the device.
The new tag is now linked to the asset.

Scenario 3: Linking a New Asset to an Existing Tag

This scenario applies when reusing a tag that is currently linked to another asset.

Steps:

  1. Unlink the Existing Tag:
    • Go to Search Asset in the app.
    • Scan the Asset Code or Tag Code of the existing tag.
    • Click on the asset to view its details.
    • Select Unlink Asset to release the tag from the current asset.
  2. Go to Link Asset:
    • Scan the Asset Code of the new asset or enter it manually.
  3. Select Tag Type and Hardware Model:
    • Choose the correct Tag Type:
      • Mobile for moving assets.
      • Fixed for stationary assets.
    • Select the appropriate Hardware Model for the tag (e.g., Standard tag = BT-T1).
  4. Complete Linking:
    • Click the Link Asset button.
    • Fill in the Asset Type (e.g., Forklift or Bladderscanner).
    • Click on Create to finalize.
The asset and tag are now linked and visible in the Blyott portal.
